Categorical State and Federal Programs
Categorical programs are designed to support the academic success of students who are most at-risk of not meeting state standards.

& Instruction (C&I)
The C&I
Department works with districts, school
sites, and other agencies to provide a variety of services that support
student learning.
Contra Costa County Coordinating Council
Contra Costa County has a long history of active coordination between local school districts and the County Office of Education. This coordination is especially established when involved with services for expelled students. The County Office of Education Director of Student Programs meets quarterly with local district representatives to discuss issues of common concern, usually focusing on the most difficult to serve students. This group is called the Contra Costa County Coordinating Council.
Administrative Leadership Program Tier II (TALC)
TALC is the Tri-County Administrative Leadership Consortium. Contra Costa, Monterey, and Santa Clara County Offices of Education have formed a consortium to continue to provide the Professional Clear Administrative Services Credentialing opportunities for new administrators who need to obtain their Tier II credential.
AVID
AVID provides a program
of instructional support for middle and high school students to succeed
in a rigorous curriculum and be college qualified.
Beginning Teacher Support & Assessment Induction Program (BTSA)
The BTSA induction program is designed to support the professional development of newly-credentialed, beginning teachers.

Preschool Instructional Network
Provides professional development on instructional practices for pre-school
directors and teachers.
Contra Costa County Office Of Education STEAM
A leader in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics Education for the Contra Costa County School Districts and the region by developing opportunities, providing resources and fostering communication among STEAM and Educational professionals that prepare all students to become successful members of a rapidly emerging technological world.

Digital Citizenship Webinar Series
Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) in partnership with Linda Uhrenholt from AT&T, Adrienne DeWolfe with Region IV CTAP and Eileen C. Walters with CCCOE is hosting a series of webinars covering the issues surrounding Digital Citizenship.
English Learner Support/Title III Region 4 Lead: Year 2 and 4 Technical Assistance
This a state funded program provides technical assistance to districts in the seven county Bay Region IV, that have been identified as not meeting their accountability measures for English Learners for two or four years. Technical assistance supports districts to develop and implement an improvement plan or "Action Plan for English Learner Achievement."

Local Planning Council for Child
Care and Development (LPC)
The LPC
works to promote quality child care and early education through community
assessment, advocacy, resource development, and collaboration with
other organizations.
Quality Educational Investment Act Technical Assistance (QEIA)
Technical assistance is provided to districts in the seven county Bay Region IV. The purpose of the services is to assist districts to meet the implementation requirements of QEIA. Contact information: Pamela Tyson 925.942-3381
Transitional Kindergarten
Transitional Kindergarten is year one of a two-year kindergarten experience. Transitional Kindergarten provides California's young children with the time necessary to develop the social, emotional, and academic skills needed to successfully complete kindergarten.
