K-12 Online Content Project

California provides free access to online educational resources from Encyclopaedia Britannica, ProQuest, TeachingBooks.net, and Gale for use by any public K-12 school and student in the state. These resources are available at school or at home.

There is a rich trove of content available through the Project, including magazines and newspaper articles, books, scientific research media such as photos and videos, and more. All content is aligned to California State Standards.

How to Get Access

Public school districts and charter schools must provide the necessary technical information and ensure your students and staff can access these materials. To do this, ask your district or school technology director to fill out this form.

The online content providers need the information on the form to most efficiently connect you to these resources. (The form is hosted by TeachingBooks.net, but is used by all providers.) The online content providers have signed a Student Data Privacy Agreement, which have been reviewed by the California Student Privacy Alliance and are listed by them as approved for use.

Not sure if your school, district, or educational agency is signed up? Check the lists of Districts or Charters that have not completed the form for access:
