BOARD MEETING AGENDA HIGHLIGHTS:
Resolution #26/22-23: Arab American Heritage Month - the Contra Costa County Board of Education proclaims the month of April as Arab American Heritage Month. The Board encourages educational communities to recognize Arab Americans and their culture by showcasing appropriate programs and activities that highlight their contributions.
Charter Schools – An update will be presented on charter schools in the county. Charter MOUs policy discussion, and Notices of Concern will also be discussed.
Youth Services – The Education for Homeless Children & Youth Program and the Empowerment Program will be highlighted by the Youth Services Department.
Second Interim Report – The Second Interim Report will include budgetary estimates and financial transactions (including actual year-to-date and full year projections). The Second Interim report is presented to the Board in March of each year.
Board Retreat and CCBE Conference Overview – The Board will provide feedback and discussion about their recent retreat and conference members attended.

About Contra Costa County Office of Education
One of 58 counties in California, Contra Costa County has the 9th largest public-school student population in the state (approximately 158,401 students). Officially established in 1932, the CCCOE has a long history of providing direct services to some of our county's most vulnerable students, including young people who are incarcerated, homeless, or in foster care, as well as students who have severe physical or emotional challenges.
CCCOE also provides support services to schools and school districts in Contra Costa County; services that can be handled most effectively and economically on a regional basis rather than by each of the county's 285 schools or 18 school districts.
