Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program is a federally funded program designed to help low income and at risk youth access employment, education, training, and support services to enable them to succeed in the labor market. CCCOE Youth Development Services receives WIOA funding to operate the Supporting Student Success (SSS) and Reconnecting Youth to their Future (RYTF) programs in Contra Costa County.

Services Provided:

Our purpose is to help young people enter the workforce and post-secondary education with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful by providing work experience, mentoring, academic support and career development assistance. We train youth in workplace preparation skills so that they are ready to obtain their first job or paid work experience and assist with career exploration leading to a career pathway.

  • The Supporting Student Success (SSS) program also provides high school seniors with academic monitoring, post-secondary preparation and financial Aid information.
  • The Reconnecting Youth to their Future (RYTF) program assists out-of-school youth, (ages 16-24) with school re-engagement, diploma/GED attainment and assistance with advanced training.
