CyberCamp at CCCOEPLEASANT HILL, Calif. - During the week of July 11, 2022, Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) teamed up with Bay Area Cyber League for CyberCamp, a free week-long day camp of engaging and interactive learning on how to stay safe on the internet. Junior high and high school students throughout Contra Costa County were invited to attend the in-person camp that showcased tips for staying safe online, how to avoid hackers, and coding challenges. The group met each day from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. where they participated in a variety of online and offline activities.

CyberCamp was made possible through a collaboration between CCCOE and Bay Area Cyber League. CyberCamp is part of Contra Costa County Regional Occupational Program (CCC ROP) with support from a K12 Strong Workforce Program Grant. Cyber Camp is also connected to CCCOE's College and Career Readiness Program, which works with local school districts to support Career Technical Education (CTE) courses in high demand and high wage fields. CyberCamp is designed to engage students in Cybersecurity and showcases potential careers. The National Science Foundation and Bay Area Community College Consortium also supported the program.
