Separating Fact from Fiction Online

Join us for an afternoon with Erik Palmer

How can we teach students to analyze what they see online? How can we teach students to avoid being duped by fake news? Would practical, teachable ideas for giving students the tools they need to be media and internet literate be useful to you? Learn how to teach about: Confirmation bias, Evaluating internet sites, Sound & image, Persuasive techniques, Arguments and Types of evidence. Erik Palmer is the author of numerous articles and books focused on improving students' listening and speaking skills. He is a program consultant for HMH CA Journeys and HMH CA Collections. He brings over two decades of class experience to his presentations along with lots of humor.
