Equity Leadership Retreats

The Equity Leadership Retreats are designed to support leaders to develop their own capacity to become eeffective champions of equity. These full day trainings scaffold the work by first allowing participants to define equitable leadership and develop meaning around terms that have become meaningless due to mis and over use. These trainings will also invite each participant to self-evaluate the role their personal history or beliefs may play in the perpetuation or resolution of these issues.

  • Retreat One: Let's Talk About Race, September 12, 2017
  • Retreat Two: Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, November 14, 2017
  • Retreat Three: The Tragedy of Non-Ness: How Language Damages Our Quest for Social Justice,
    February 13, 2018
  • Retreat Four: “Get explicit about implicit bias” using Compassionate Dialogue, May 15, 2018

All sessions will be held at the Contra Costa County Office of Education Board Room: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
