Year two of county-wide school attendance campaign underway!

CCCOE is proud to launch year two of the successful “Every School Day Counts” Attendance Awareness Campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to provide schools and communities in Contra Costa County with tools and strategies to help boost school attendance and reduce truancy across the county. "Pointing Towards NGSS" Grant Awarded by Tesoro Foundation

Pointing Toward NGSS grant awardCounty Superintendent Karen Sakata and Board President Pamela Mirabella join CCCOE STEAM Coordinator HIllary Dito in receiving a $100,000 grant from the Tesoro Foundation. Presenting the check was Brian Nunnally of the Tesoro Refining Company. The grant, entitled “Pointing Toward NGSS” is meant to assist with the County's efforts in implementing the new Next Generation Science Standards.

Four Contra Costa County Schools Honored as Blue Ribbon Schools: Second Most Schools in a California County

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson congratulated 29 California public and four private schools that are being recognized as 2015 National Blue Ribbon Schools. The California winners of the coveted award are among 285 public (traditional, charter, choice, and magnet) schools and 50 private schools announced by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. read more »

Settlement Agreement Reached with Disability Rights Advocates

The Contra Costa County Office of Education is pleased to announce that a settlement agreement has been reached with Disability Rights Advocates and Public Council regarding a 2013 class action lawsuit.
