These trusted community-based programs support families facing housing security, trauma, parenting challenges, and other long-term effects. Many offer free, culturally responsive, and bilingual services. 

Parenting Classes, Crisis Support, and Advocacy
 
CAPC offers Triple P Parenting classes, family-strengthening workshops, and home visiting services for families facing high stress, CPS involvement, or parenting challenges. Also provides mandated reporter training and family advocacy.

Coordinated Outreach Referral & Engagement (C.O.R.E.) teams connect unhoused or housing-insecure families to emergency shelter, health care, mental health support, and long-term housing programs.

Support for Families of Children with Disabilities or Special Needs
 
Provides one-on-one navigation, advocacy training, and support groups for parents of children with developmental, physical, or emotional disabilities. Help families access IEP support, regional center services, and long-term planning.

One-Stop Support for Families Experiencing Violence or Trauma
 
Family Justice Center offers coordinated support for families experiencing domestic violence, abuse, or human trafficking, including legal help, counseling, safety planning, and parenting support.

Offers culturally responsive health and behavioral health care with family support services, including parenting groups, therapy, and stress management.

Support for Parents of Children Ages 0-5
 
First 5 Contra Costa offers parenting classes, support groups, developmental screenings, early learning activities, and basic needs navigation.

Offers service focused on economic resilience, including job readiness, digital literacy, tenant protection, housing stability, and family wellness support.

Support for Families & Students Experiencing Homelessness
 
 Homeless Education Technical Assistance Center (HETAC) supports school districts and families in accessing services under the Mckinney-Vento Act, including transportation, school stability, and basic needs for students experiencing homelessness.

Emergency Shelter & Housing Support for Families Experiencing Homelessness 
 
Offers safe overnight shelter, meals, tutoring, and housing navigation for families with children. Wraparound support help families transition from crisis to permanent housing.
