What is the Administrative Leadership Program (ALP)?
CCCOE-ALP is approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing as a Professional Preparation Program for the Clear Administrative Services Credential. In partnership with the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), CCCOE-ALP provides high-quality, researched-based professional learning and development for new leaders. Credential candidates expand and deepen their leadership knowledge, skills, and behaviors through individualized, job-embedded induction.
Program highlights include:
- One-on-one coaching by an experienced administrator and certified leadership coach.
- Assisting and supporting candidates to lead, reflect, and grow their leadership capacity.
- Advancing the knowledge and skills of candidates in relation to the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELs).
- Completing a portfolio based on an Individual Induction Plan, including setting goals and outlining their experiences and growth as leaders. Upon completion of the two-year program, candidates will be recommended for the Clear Administrative Services Credential
Who Should Participate?
Any administrator with a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential who is currently employed in an administrative position is eligible to participate in the CCCOE-ALP.
The program is also open to veteran principals in transition and/or seeking advanced professional learning opportunities with a one-on-one leadership coach.
Candidates agree to:
- Participate in two years of one-to-one coaching, a minimum of 40 hours per year, provided by a certified leadership coach.
- Create an Individual Induction Plan based on the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELS).
- Participate in 20 hours of professional development, guided by the candidate's work setting, individualized goals and CPSEL program outcomes.
- Engage in leadership self-assessments based on reflective practices.
How do you enroll?
There are two enrollment windows and cohorts each year.
- Fall Window: For 2019 - 2020, the fall enrollment window is April 15 - August 30.
- Winter Window: For 2019-2020, the winter enrollment window is October 15 - January 31.

What are the program fees?
There are two sets of annual fees associated with the program - a program fee and a leadership coaching fee.
- A $1,000 annual ACSA Program Fee is paid directly to ACSA ($2000 total)
- A $4,000 annual Leadership Coaching Fee is paid directly to CCCOE-ALP via check or credit card ($8000 total)
The total cost of the two year program is $10,000. Check with your district regarding reimbursement options. Title II funds may be used to help offset the cost of the program.
