Curriculum Council

The purpose of the Contra Costa County Curriculum Council is to support district success and build leadership capacity by providing a forum for district curriculum and instruction leaders to receive timely information, share best practices, and engage in collaborative learning and problem-solving around critical instructional topics.

At Curriculum Council meetings, we provide district support in several areas, including:

  • Updates on federal and state accountability structures including Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
  • Updates on legislation, frameworks, instructional practices and textbooks in the primary subject areas, and the integration of English language development and educational technology
  • Showcase of best practices from schools throughout the county

Curriculum Council Summit Newsletter

The Summit Newsletter is a tool to acknowledge and share all the collaborative work taking place in Curriculum Council and its associated subcommittees and networks. In the spirit of ensuring that everyone has equitable access to the information and resources shared through these groups, the CCCOE Curriculum and Instruction Department has created this newsletter to share highlights from each meeting (Peaks) and to communicate what to expect in each content-area in the near future (Horizons).
